Trump’s Triumph #2

I can always tell when a Republican does well — the media grumbles. It’s triply true with Donald Trump.

Wednesday morning there was much foot-shuffling and grumbling on CBS Radio as they grudgingly acknowledged that Pres. Trump’s speech to Congress on Tuesday night might have not been a complete disaster. They couldn’t even come up with any “gotchas” or “fact checks” to embarrass Trump.

The Democrats’ cheap attempts to humiliate Trump had failed miserably so CBS Radio simply didn’t mention them.

The best they could do was wheel out Chuck “Chuck U!” Schumer to whine that Trump talked about “bipartisanship” but he hadn’t taken any Democrat advice on anything. Chuck apparently missed that whole Obama “I won” and “I have a phone and a pen” approach to governance. Hey, Chuckles, you Dems were warned when King Barry told Republicans to “talk to the hand” that there would be payback when a Republican was elected. You chose to not rein Obama in. Payback’s a bitch! (And it couldn’t happen to a bigger bunch of assholes, too!)

Then they went to Bernie Sanders for sage advice. (There were no Republicans available for comment apparently.)

Bernie basically complained that Trump was cutting the free unicorn rides for children out of the budget. It’s a civil right!

And then they got around to the “response.” Delivered by former Kentucky Gov. Steve Beshear it was more like a student film set in a diner; but on the radio it was nothing more than a guy rambling about how great Obamacare is. Hey, Stevarino, a Republican was elected by the Kentucky voters in 2015 instead of the Obamacare-loving Democrat. That was a whole year ahead of the Trump wave. Kentucky was ahead of the curve. And then in November 2016 they sent record numbers of Republicans to the Kentucky state house.

Your state was devastated by Obama’s war on coal. What idiot thought it would be a good idea to haul out an ex-governor from a state that has thoroughly reputed Democrat leadership?

If that’s the best they can do…
