Scary Mooch

And we’re not talking about Michelle “Mooch” Obama, either!

I’m talking about Anthony “The Mooch” Scaramucci and his superstrange interaction with The New Yorker’s Ryan Lizza.

Why would he approach a sworn enemy of Republicans and Trump; a paid-in-full member of Journolist and a leading progressive/socialist/Democratic Party MSM plant for a bitch session? That’s like George Patton contacting, say, Gen. Wilhelm Keitel, to ask if anyone had leaked any secret Allied invasion plans to him then whine about Omar Bradley getting the D-Day job…

Did he really think Ryan Lizza was going to tell him who the leaker was? That shows spectacularly poor judgment and/or a naivete bordering on diehard belief in the Tooth Fairy.

Amateur hour. How could such a fool get the job?

I know there is a hardcore nut of conservatives cheering him on this bizarre behavior because they so want to see someone let-er rip.

But, folks, this wasn’t the case.

He just looked like a foolish drunk… and sucked up to the enemy. He gained nothing and looked the fool to everyone not a hardcore conservative.

And a lot of conservatives in Washington, D.C. (and there are a few) are appalled and now want to give The Mooch a wide berth. With his type of people it’s just a matter of time before you become a target. These guys always crash and burn, ultimately without any allies because they burned them all.

Speaking of crashing and burning, apparently The Mooch’s wife wants a divorce. I don’t know anything about these two beyond what I’ve read. They sound like another bizarro couple – similar to Roger and Ann Stone. You’ll know what I mean if you recognize those names.

Unless this guy actually learns on the job, it well not end in anything less than an embarrassment.

Identity Politics Uber Alles

Just a note on the diversion of our culture. Here is the Wiki page for the great novelist Allen Drury. What is the single longest section? Advise & Consent? Historical References? How He Worked? His Influence Washington and Political Literature? All fine guesses but, sadly, in our world of identity politics, it’s “Gay Characters.”

Even more to the point, the section acknowledges in its second paragraph that “gay characters are not common in Drury’s books…”

So, Wiki author/editor, why did you spend so much space writing about them??????

Sheesh, you can’t make this stuff up…

In defense of Wiki, someone seems aware that something is a little amiss, though they don’t do anything about it.

A Big Story You Haven’t Heard

One of the biggest stories in Washington is a story most of America hasn’t heard — because the MSM has decided you can’t hear it since it would reflect badly upon the Democrats. That’s the way the MSM rolls.

A former IT guy for Democratic leadership on Capitol Hill looks to have been doing something funny with the IT system. Helping may have been several family members and in-laws. The guy was from Pakistan. He worked for Debbie Wasserman-Schultz, who, defended the guy, has since clammed up to investigators and she threatened them to get back possibly incriminating evidence.

Read more here for the bonus discovery of smashed hard drives at one of his properties.

Wow, what a great story, too bad our media won’t cover it.

The latest, the guy was caught on Monday trying to escape the country.

Ah, imagine if this involved Republicans or Trump in the way it involves Democrats — you’d never hear the end of the story… but the press, including the local Washington press such as WTOP, is too busy running the fourth Trump Russian Collusion story of the hour to squeeze in any real Washington news.

Defund CPB

A long-running soap opera in Washington is the campaign to defund the Corporation for Public Broadcasting and all other government funding of the arts.

Yet somehow, no matter how clear it appears like it’s going to happen, somehow it doesn’t get done. There’s always some Republican pol, or half-a-dozen, that go back on their word – charmed by Jane Alexander as Zach Wamp was back in the 1990s, or recently, Rep. Tom Cole who doesn’t see anything wrong with CPB.

He said, “If you look over a 50-year [CPB] history it is a pretty impressive record of enriching the content of public dialog, opening doors to communities that don’t often have these kind of opportunities and living within what is by any measure at the federal level a comparatively modest budget, which you manage to leverage and multiply many times over.”

He must be seeing and hearing a different PBS and NPR. Maybe he sees the goateed CPB in an alternate universe.

America’s Public Television Stations President Patrick Butler said, “We know how challenging the fiscal situation is for appropriators and the Congress in general, and we are grateful for this important vote of confidence in our work in education, public safety and civic leadership in hundreds of American communities.”

He added, “We’re especially honored that Chairman Rep. Tom Cole identified the Corporation for Public Broadcasting among the ‘popular programs’ for which funding is preserved.”

Yes, popular with one segment but not all Americans.

The question that needs to be asked is, has CPB (PBS, NPR) ever done any programming favorable to conservatives or Republicans? The last episode of “Firing Line” was 1999. Despite the popularity of the program, PBS has never revisited programming where conservatives aren’t treated as ogres or buffoons.

Admittedly, not all of CPB-funded programming is anti-conservative/Republican, but when it delves into culture or politics you can set your clock by how it’s going to go – standard issue liberalism: America bad, racist, sexist, colonialist, bigoted, oppressive, etc.; international socialism good, capitalism bad; foreigners good, Americans ugly and imperialist…

Why? Because the people who make the programming are liberals. The people appearing on the programs are liberal. The people who decide what gets made are liberals. The people buying the programming and doling out the money are liberals.

Conservatives don’t get hired nor does anything they pitch or produce get on the air.

And CPB is clever at getting away with it.

One example is CPB President Patricia Harrison. Though it probably wasn’t hard, she’s been thoroughly co-opted into defending CPB and enlisting other Washington Republicans into her cabal.

Hey, fun fact, Rep. Tom Cole used to work for her! What a co-inky-dink!

Harrison is a typical Washington “Republican.” She may have co-chair of the Republican National Committee but she’s always been more comfortable with Democrats than Republicans from out of town. She likes the Georgetown cocktail circuit and wants to continue getting invitations to them. She is a member of the GOPe, having spent most of her adult life in the Washington/Boston corridor hobnobbing with political and big corporate interests.

No “conservative” Republican could sit on top of that trash pile and not smell the stench or do something about it.

Now, Cole, given the choice, has chosen to side with the Washington establishment rather than Oklahoma or U.S. taxpayers.

Trump Speaks to the Times

He’s bellowed about “Fake News” and pointed out the chief culprit, the New York Times. Yet, for some inexplicable reason, Donald Trump just sat down with a number of the Times’ henchmen and gave them an interview.

Even moreso he talked some dirt on supporters, notably Attorney General Jeff Sessions.

Trump, sadly, does not seem to brook any disagreement with him; even from major supporters.

Trump doesn’t grasp that Sessions is an interface between Trump and Washington’s denizens. He’s the one telling those people that Trump isn’t that bad and that they should work with him.

Trump just played into the ogre stereotype Washingtonians and the New York to Boston corridor have of him.

What does Trump get from speaking to the Times? They are not going to let up on their undermining and peddling of leaks and lies. He’s a fool if he thinks they’ll change their stripes over this favor. Why give them more ammunition?

He should freeze them out. Render the millers of Fake News irrelevant. How better to make the meisters of Fake News obsolete than to ignore them? Now he’s just fed the trolls…

Now expect a sit-down with the WaPoo and then a round with CNN and the network news…

Mr. Trump, you’ve wanted your supporters to ignore the MSM and those attacking you, we’ve done that. Now we see you having lunch with them? What gives?

Pitching your disappointment in Sessions to members of the cabal seeking your scalp seems a little odd. It looks like what many expected of Trump – if elected he’d revert back to being a northeastern liberal and disappoint those who got him into the White House.

Trump demands loyalty yet seems to have little himself. Jeff Sessions’s endorsement of Donald Trump was the single most important endorsement Trump received. It was the one that made Trump palatable for many conservatives and a lot of Republican leaders and soldiers.

Had Sessions not endorsed him, he would not be president.

I have to say that I am a little disappointed in Trump over this move.

Reebok Lectures Trump

Athletic shoe maker has decided to attack Donald Trump for… get this… his compliment to the French first lady.

So the cretins… er… superior moral judges at Reebok felt the need to chide Trump. What is it with these people that they feel compelled to mouth off on things that aren’t their business?

For Pete’s sake, it was a harmless compliment, yet these school-marmish scolds can’t control themselves.

Are they in such an echo chamber that they cannot see they are angering a large portion of their market? For no reason whatsoever? The people who don’t like Trump aren’t going to dislike him more for this. Do the geniuses at Reebok think those folks will toss aside their Nikes and run out to buy a pair of Reeboks because of this?

Anybody who doesn’t have an opinion on the topic certainly isn’t going to be swayed by this petty silliness and the large group that voted for Trump are now annoyed and certainly not thinking fondly of Reebok.

Well, Reebok, you just lost another potential customer… but look on the bright side, you’ll always have your arrogance to keep you warm at night…

The Zombie Lives

Like a good zombie, the Russia Collusion zombie narrative refuses to die.

Donald Trump Jr. stories keep popping up on radio, TV, newspapers and websites of the MSM. Remarkably uniform, giddily pronouncing young Trump guilty of most everything short of treason (and even that from some Democrats quoted). Everyone of them is indistinguishable from the DNC home page. Not a single one of these pieces expresses any of that traditional skepticism journalists claim they pride themselves in.

The MSM has settled on the line that the Trumps are guilty and any exculpatory material will be ignored or suppressed and not presented.

Since the weekend we’ve learned a little more about this story. From the released emails we’ve learned that Trump fils is a political campaign naif. But he was also being nice to some foreign acquaintances, who clearly took advantage of him.His interaction in most of the emails is de minimis, obviously waiting to see what the “damaging” info was.

In addition it seems clear that the “meeting” was a bait and switch with the Russian lawyer’s real mission to lobby for modification of the Magnitsky Act – a law curtailing U.S. interaction with Russian human rights advisors.

Trump shut the meeting down when it was obvious he had been misled.

Furthermore, we’ve now learned that the lawyer was in the U.S. illegally, yet unhassled by the U.S. authorities (under Obama’s no-seeum-immigration enforcement).

It’s also been learned that said lawyer was not a “Kremlin lawyer” but had contacts with Fusion GPS, a political intelligence/dirty tricks firm that had been working with anti-Trump Republicans but had also then allied itself with the Clinton campaign. Fusion GPS was also the initiator of the false “dossier” filled with misinformation and disinformation on Trump and some of his campaign advisors.

Hmmmmm, that seems like a number of coincidences. Wouldn’t it be great if we had a news media that might look into this?

Oh, one more coincidence, the first of the Trump surveillance FISA warrant requests began immediately after the meeting. These were based on interactions with Russians. How convenient.

This whole meeting is beginning to smell of a set-up.

Side note. Amusingly CBS Radio led one of their stories with “The spigot” of damaging news “was open” then segued into “The latest drip is.” Open spigots aren’t characterized by “drips.” You’d think a leading news outfit would know that.

They also alluded that “Trump allies” thought the Trump Jr. revelations were “a Category 5 hurricane.” I’d love to know who these (unnamed) “allies” were. The MSM is living in its own fantasy world.

One last thought – they squawk about agents of the Kremlin influencing American politics but these are the same news operations that were not remotely interested in the well-documented Chinese connections to the Clinton administration back in the 1990s. Nor have they been interested in the tens of millions of dollars that the Clinton Foundation received from Russian companies and friends of Putin nor the $500,000 that Bill Clinton received from same for a speech shortly after Sec. of State Hillary Clinton approved the sale of a large portion of America’s uranium resources to a Russian company allied to Putin.

Imagine if that had been Republicans – Pulitzer Prizes all around!
