International Without a Woman Day or Whatever…

Yet another shockingly dumb “movement” thing from liberals. And of course it is adopted and whitewashed by politicians, news media and other cultural arbiters as harmless as Arbor Day (but also incredibly important too!!!!).

Believe it or not, a local school system, City of Alexandria (Va.), is giving the students the day off.

Not surprisingly, either, The U.N. is all for it and involved, along with many useless parasite NGOs.

Being left out of all this by our cultural commissars are the hardcore left organizers. Gee, I wonder why?

Lessee, a convicted Palestinian terrorist and the ubiquitous human communist/racist cancer, Angela Davis are involved. And somehow our watchdog media missed this.

Eh, maybe not. Most of them like Angie Davis and they are cool with Palestinian terrorists too (so long as they concentrate on killing Israelis).

Check out these exposés on the march/day leaders from the New York Post, Legal Insurrection, Blue Lives Matter and Front Page.

Hey, how about a Day Without Men? You know, no cops (the serious ones, ya’ know); no firemen (the serious ones, ya’ know); no military (the serious ones, ya’ know); no repairmen; no contractors; no serious outdoor laborers; a serious curtailment of business; etc.

No, you say? Yeah, the idea is absurd. Most men don’t play such nonsense…

Clintons Going Out of Business Sale

I’m a little late in getting to this but I can’t stop laughing that the Clinton Global Initiative — part of the enormous scam known as the Clinton Crime Family Foundation… er… Clinton Foundation — is shutting down.

It seems that all those countries, rich folks, celebrities and corporations have realized that paying protection money, graft, bribes and baksheesh to the Clintons and their various hangers-on is no longer of any use.

Or as Glenn Reynolds puts it, “What happens to an influence-peddling operation when there’s no influence to peddle?”

Of course, you might not have heard that this multimillion dollar money laundering operation is closing because big media is too busy stalking Donald Trump like Glenn Close in “Fatal Attraction” to report on such things; to report on actual news (that makes Democrats look bad and/or exposes their craven calumny).

In reality the Clinton Global Initiative was always a shakedown operation that enriched the Clinton Crime Syndicate. It existed for no other purpose. There was no “global initiative” (other than shaking down anyone, anywhere on the planet). Most of the money went to well-heeled and well-connected people to put on conferences to be attended by other well-heeled and well-connected people where they got out the tin cup to get money from taxpayers and corporations across the globe. It also made sure that the Big Pig and HilLIARy traveled in first class and stayed at the best hotels before they delivered their highly-compensated, self-congratulatory bloviations to their audiences of international elites, who then patted themselves on their backs for being so concerned about whatever was the cause du jour.

So what happens to those who worked there, apparently about two dozen low-level grifter tenderfoots? They are being cut loose. Now, you’d think, that with all the lectures that people like Billary have delivered to businesses about not shutting down useless or money-losing operations, to keep them open no matter how much money they lose, that they’d keep CGI open, even on life-support, just to keep those people employed. After all, as Democrats always insist, the rich have scads of wealth from magical, never-ending sources.

But you’d be wrong. Remember, the rules don’t apply to our superiors like Mr. & Mrs. Ex-President. Do as I say, not as I do is their motto.

Interestingly, the employees of the Clinton Global Initiative, based in New York, were non-union. Imagine that, a Democrat operation that hires only non-union employees and then fires them when the operation runs out of gas. Hmmmmm, the word hypocrisy comes to mind.

Kind of reminds me of unions that hire non-union people to walk their picket lines and always pays them below the minimum wage (They’ve even done that at minimum wage promotion rallies!).

However, I suspect that these people will land on their feet in academia, media, Wall Street, politics, NGOs, etc.

Museum of Neosegregationism

You might have caught the story about Clarence Thomas, a sitting Supreme Court Justice, somehow not being included in any exhibits at the newly-opened National Museum of African American History and Culture.

Oh, no doubt you heard about the museum, the MSM and our cultural leaders couldn’t stop talking about it but the exclusion of Justice Thomas, well, that somehow didn’t make the news.

Surprise!

Not really.

The surprising thing is that so many conservatives thought that a museum created solely for politically correct reasons would actually treat conservatives (especially one as villified as Thomas is) with equality or respect.

Paul Mirengoff’s naive piece in Power Line  is typical of these.

The museum was never going to be anything other than a playpen for leftists; an employment and legitimizing program for left-wing black scholars and their guilt-ridden white sycophants; a tool for grievance- and guilt-mongering; a hive of endless Zinn-like anti-American and racist propaganda.

It’s also part of the continuing decline of the Smithsonian Institution into little more than just another once-great American organization degraded and drafted into service of the left.

Mirengoff, et al, when you set up museums for politically correct reasons, why are you surprised that political correctness reigns?

How could you possibly think that a museum based on skin color and whose design from day one was controlled by liberals and whose raison d’etre followed liberal historical memes was going to be anything less than a liberal hellhole.

Have you been under a rock for the last five decades?

It never ceases to amaze me how some conservatives still don’t understand that we are in a war. It’s like in the movie “United 93,” when it dawns on the FAA’s Ben Sliney that “We’re at war with somebody” as he watches planes smash into buildings. He shut the flight system down until it can be determined who’s attacking.

What’s so hard to understand here?

Like the shockingly underwhelming National Museum of African Art, the National Museum of African American History and Culture was created exclusively for political reasons — to placate or fulfill the demands of the neosegregationist movement. It was never designed for actual real scholarship. There’s already a Smithsonian (National Museum of American History) for that.

When I was a kid we had it beaten into our heads that Plessy v Ferguson, the core of “separate but equal,” was a bad, terrible, horrible, grotesque… decision. Yet somehow we’ve circled back to it and it’s not the white majority of the country dictating the separation of the races.

Our Borg Left

Can there be any doubt that anything that the left touches becomes corrupted.

Here is a story about the nominally nonpartisan Committee to Protect Journalists. Now it has come out with a statement that Donald Trump is an unprecedented threat to press freedom though it insists that it’s not taking sides in the upcoming election. They said that with a straight face.

Seriously.

Admittedly any group of journalists is likely to be left-leaning and it is usually just a matter of time before it removes any pretense and just goes whole-hog into auxiliary service of the Democratic Party.

Interestingly, Hillary Clinton has her own plans to limit press freedoms. She wants to outlaw stories, movies, whatever, that paint politicians in a bad light.

CPJ seems to have missed that. Probably because most of their members decided not to report negative stories about Hillary Clinton.

And then there’s this piece about our wonderful public education system, which was drafted into service of the Democratic Party a long time ago.

I guess the surprising thing about this “letter” drafted by several “Teachers of the Year” is that they hadn’t done this before.

They certainly don’t hold back, pretty much equating Trump with the most heinous villains in history.

They also trot out lots of perfect moppet anecdotes of fear with tots crying on cue, “Mr. Supersmawt teacher, why does that scawwy Donald Twump want to huwt me?”

Our humble teachers are taking this extraordinary step… to save the children (from the Abominable Trumble).

Remember back during the first Clinton interregnum when so much of their calumny (especially at the EPA) was committed “for the children.”

Of course all of this couched in the insufferability that the conceited teaching profession has polished to a high sheen. These people think a lot of themselves and little of anyone who thinks differently (i.e. isn’t a liberal). To think, these people are paid by the taxpayer that these teachers so loathe.

The public education system needs to be torn down, sown with salt and its braying donkey membership put to digging ditches or handing out sippy straws and butt pillows at the old folks home… er… retirement community – actual, productive jobs rather than the well-compensated, publicly-funded liberal propagandameisters that they are now.

I’m not the first to note that the left ruins everything it touches and turns those things into tools of liberal propaganda, coercion, cultural and political warfare. Anything that resists is targeted for destruction.

Like the Borg, you will be assimilated or destroyed. There is no refuge from them.

Silly College Videos and Team Names

As I occasionally mention, I watch a lot of college sports — generally focusing on smaller colleges and avoiding the big college/ESPN mafia.

So I see a lot of those college promo videos that appear during commercial breaks of the games. You know them, State U. is a school of unique individuals who will make a difference by leading the way to the glorious future  of the college graduate through college work. These are always accompanied pictures of smiling, multiracially-balanced youth working hard in the lab, the inner-city or Africa; raising their hands in class or working with a child or poor, darker-skinned person. They look to be employed by an NGO or a large corporation in a money-losing operation. Occasionally they look beatifically to their wise professor for guidance.

These things are stamped out of a mold.  They differ only in the background music and pretty tree-lined campus and ivy-covered building shots.

I want to see a real video. No, not one of booze-hounds and directionless slugs; indebted fools and legacy losers; screaming sports team fans; deranged PC fascists and “professors” who would be better employed as warehouse workers. Rather, I’d like to see a video that says we can provide you with an education that will help you do well but you’ll have to work hard here and in the adult world. In the adult world you’ll probably not cure cancer, bring world peace or provide free magical unicorn energy to Africa but you can start a worthwhile business or obtain a job where you can support yourself and a family along with being a positive contributor to your community and not be a burden upon society. Mostly, it’s up to you.

I think I’ll be waiting a long time for that video.

And then there’s this. As I was writing this up on Sunday, St. John’s was playing Seton Hall in college basketball.I had it on in the background. I don’t have a dog in that fight.

When I was younger, St. John’s teams were known as the “Redmen.” That got changed in the mid-1990s because someone was upset that “Redmen” could be construed as derogatory towards Indians. SJU did use an Indian mascot though he was in  no way degraded. So to pay penance, they chose the supremely lame “Red Storm” and eventually chose “Johnny Thunderbird” as a mascot. Apparently the PC police did not considered the thunderbird appropriation as an insult to Indians. Go figure.

SJU and its students also have a tradition of being called “Johnnies.” Why they haven’t adopted that name is beyond me. St. Bonaventure has wisely adopted the unique name “Bonnies.” Who else is called Johnnies? But wisdom from colleges is no longer a safe expectation these days.

The Inevitable Melting of the Snowflakes?

In the wake of the recent outburst of insanity on college campuses, some people took refuge in the satisfaction that the hypersensitive precious snowflakes were going to get theirs when they had to enter the real world, where their delicate sensitivities, intolerance of disagreement, ultrarighteous attitudes, shocking ignorance and simple inability to play well with others would doom them.

There is a lot of truth to that but it is likely that their closest encounters with the private sector will be employment in the media or in “diversity/HR” offices of major corporations. I also want to offer an alternative scenario.

It is far more likely that many of these graduates will simply become academics, government employees, work for NGOs and nonprofits or simply be professional activists. By adhering to these groups, they will be able travel in the protected libtard bubble for their whole lives – and be well-paid for it as well.

Most Americans have little to no idea how vast this network is. They often think of these groups as being pleasant little charities doing the Lord’s work for a pittance.

One couldn’t be any more wrong.

Millions are employed in the nonprofit world and tens of millions more in government. You can spend your whole life without encountering the “real” world. And be well-compensated for it.

We already see what a fever swamp academia has become and as any conservative student can tell you, most professors aren’t encouraging them to stick around for an academic career. One look at the resume/CV of professors and assistant professors tells you all you need to know. They often read like Onion parodies gone wild, yet they are real. John Hinderaker at Power Line provided some details on the grotesquely awful Melissa Click, Asst. Prof. at Mizzou. Talk about someone who should be disqualified for transferring knowledge to impressionable youth. Here is someone who has wasted their intellectual life. She’s merely typical of thousands of academics.

They inhabit a world where they defecate article after article of validation to bizarre and uncountable “academic” journals that are really nothing more than intellectual circle-jerks. There’s a world of “academic” conferences that perform the same duty.

Government employment provides a lucrative, powerful and natural shelter for many similarly-minded people. These people affect policy, make laws and render judgments. Creating more control over the citizenry is exactly what they live for. Has anyone noticed the proliferation of “diversity” offices at all levels of anything government touches? These people will be populating and running those offices too. And don’t forget, there’s always politics. Few things are more detached from reality than the life of the politician and his staff. Yet they rule us with an iron fist.

Few people outside of political activity are aware of the vast network of NGOs and nonprofits. Washington is awash in them. It can be surprising to see the number of people working at them, the range of issues, the number of “conferences” they are involved with and the amount of funding sources (private, public and other NGO/nonprofit) fueling them. Most of them advocate more government and more government control. Some of them are extremely aggressive. These can range from groups like the NAACP, ACLU and National Council of La Raza to the Natural Resources Defense Council, Greenpeace, Science in the Public Interest and the American Association of University Women. There are thousands of them. Hundreds are minted yearly. Not surprising, there is a revolving door between themselves and government. Conservatives are easily outgunned 10, if not 100, to 1.

Then there are similar groups at the “official” level of “Non-Government Organization.” Everything from the United Nations to the Smithsonian to the Carnegie Endowment for Peace is stuffed with liberals — often cycling in and out of academia and government employment. These jobs pay well and can lead to wildly lucrative employment in the corporate suites of major international corporations. It also has its own endless string of taxpayer- and corporate-funded “conferences.”

And then there’s the whole brave new world of the professional activist. A few years ago these jobs really were low-paying and only the most dedicated took them. But over the last decade, the rise of the liberal billionaire has created a whole new ecosystem. George Soros, Tom Steyer, tech lottery winners and dozens of trust fund kids have been pumping money into hyperaggressive liberal groups. David Brock’s Media Matters is just one. Others troll conservative websites, follow conservative politicians to harass them, participate in shady political activities, provide soldiers for political campaigns, staff Astroturf organizations, file endless lawsuits on a myriad of issues, etc. Here conservatives are outgunned probably 1,000 (or more) to 1.

This doesn’t even delve into dangerous consumer and trial lawyer groups and traditional think tanks. Many of the snowflakes will find very accommodating freezers for future employment when they tire of perpetual school. (And they will be well-paid and recycle much of that money back to liberal causes.)

These people will destroy us and are doing it on our dime. They produce nothing useful. They are parasites.

Remember, these youngsters have had it drilled into them since birth by the media (including TV and movies) and educrats that everything that existed and happened before them was unfair, racist, classist, sexist, genderist, etc., completely unworthy of saving, so is it any wonder that these little anarchists seem to have a nihilistic mentality? They are animated by the spirit of the French Revolution, the Cambodian cataclysm, the Cultural Revolution, Leninist/Stalinist purges. They think they can remove everything that came before and start from Year Zero. They think that the default position of humanity is some kind of utopia and it is only Western (i.e. white male) Civilization that has poisoned the well. To them Hobbes was a cartoon character.

You can see it in the faces of the chunky black women that animate Black Lies Matter, the angry feminists that inhabit academia and some small nonprofits or so many members of the wacky “marginalized student” groups; see it in their eyes — they view the average (i.e. ‘white’) American as a long-time criminal, a bloodsucker, an oppressor, a roach scurrying across the social paradise floor. It needs to be exterminated. Then the SJWs can take their proper place atop the food chain directing the survivors forward. (Interestingly, they seem to think the society and the economy will still function as if nothing happened. As one writer noted, ‘They think they can kick the supports out and the roof will magically hover above them.’)

This swamp needs to be defunded.
