As the Bern Turns

So another crazed Bernie Sanders supporter goes nuts and starts shooting… This time in Alexandria, Virginia and at Republican congressmen and stafffers.

But unlike the Portland shooter from last month, the MSM couldn’t bury this story when it comes out that the maniac shooter is a Bernie Sanders supporter.

If you remember, the Portland killer was a “white supremacist” with clear anti-Muslim and racist intentions in initial reports, then he was nobody when his Bernie affiliation became apparent.

This time we have the more predictable MSM and law enforcement response — “We just can’t figure out this guy’s motive.” Despite his Facebook pages and a lengthy, well-documented hardcore lefty political trail, this clown is just as much a mystery as those Muslims yelling “Allahu, Akbar!” right before they detonate a bomb or stab a poor girl to death. “I do this in the name of Allah!” they shout and somehow our media mavens and law enforcement pros can’t figure out why they do it…

It’d be funny except people are getting killed in the forced pretend ignorance of moral equivalence.

And naturally something else is missing. Oh, yeah, the enforced groveling that comes when anyone to the right of Stalin does something or, more likely, says something the liberals don’t like. Then every libtard politico, celebrity and so-called journalist demands every Republican from the dogcatcher in Buttscratch, Utah, to the president of the United States condemn the perp.

Yet when a lefty goes on a rampage it’s crickets…

It took King Barry I, et al, about 2.9 seconds to blame conservatives and Confederate history for racist nutjob Dylann Roof yet somehow the far more commonplace lefty violence requires massive, lengthy investigations into “motive.”

Has any high-profile libtard been asked or voluntarily condemned the leftwing violence we’re seeing, especially on college campuses?

I know, silly question.

So how’s the MSM going to dissipate this embarrassment away?

More Trump-bashing!

My local radio news station WTOP just announced that Trump is under investigation for obstruction of justice. No quibbling there, even though it’s coming from one of those WaPoo stories based on leaks from mysterious unnamed insiders…

And there’s always Pizzagate guy… Any port in a storm for the MSM.

And there’s NPR pushing the condemnation of white racism in the Alt-Right movement by the “Southern Baptist Convention.” Though in the actual report the convention was condemning all racism… Nothing like twisting the news for the good of the liberal cause, or to get it out of the spotlight it suddenly found itself in.

A Very Judicial Coup

We’ve now entered the Alice in Wonderland phase of America — specifically its judiciary arm.

The Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals has just handed down its decision concerning the Trump “Travel Ban.” Surprise! It affirmed the remarkably daft and erroneous lower court decision concluding that Pres. Trump did not have the authority to restrict immigration — especially immigration from places that produce dangerous people.

The statute in question is one of the more straightforward statutes out there. Not written in typical double-negative bureaucratese, it’s actually understandable to a human being (i.e. not a lawyer). Here’s the important bit.

“Whenever the President finds that the entry of any aliens or of any class of aliens into the United States would be detrimental to the interests of the United States, he may by proclamation, and for such period as he shall deem necessary, suspend the entry of all aliens or any class of aliens as immigrants or nonimmigrants, or impose on the entry of aliens any restrictions he may deem to be appropriate.”

Pretty clearly the president can make most any decision he wants concerning immigration. If he does something squirrely, he can answer to Congress or the people.

However, the Ninth, according to this summary from Law Newz, decided that the president did not have exclusive domain over immigration. In fact, the court seems to have decided to insert itself immigration policy by dismissing the president’s reasons because, well, the court doesn’t approve of restricting immigration.

Well, glad that’s settled.

Actually, you would be hard-pressed to find a decision that was more perfectly wrong than this one. Almost every reason the court uses is spectacularly wrong and misunderstands the law and the Constitution.

For instance, the court decided that the president doesn’t have the power to proclaim the details of policy because he was discriminating against select people.

Wow, imagine that, a law that discriminates.

Oh, wait, that’s what laws do. They discriminate. Murder laws discriminate against murderers — crimping their style, so to say. Theft laws discriminate against thieves. Speed limits discriminate against speeders, etc. And immigration laws in the past discriminated against specific countries such as Eastern Bloc countries or limited the amount of immigrants from countries.

Funny how those laws work…

The court complained that the “travel ban” was breaking up families — declaring a new right that anyone related to an American may enter the country at will.

Now, a federal court ruled that the president doesn’t have the power that a statute clearly delegates to him. Well, then what’s the point of a president if courts can simply insert themselves into policy whenever they wish?

Maybe they think they should be in charge — unelected courts assuming a power they do not have in the Constitution. Judges that cannot be easily removed. Sitting in judgment of Congressionally passed laws, presidential Constitutional duties. No longer satisfied to be blindfolded and follow the law unequivocally, they now offer their thumbs up or thumbs down, like the Roman emperors of old; or maybe the Red Queen.The law means what she says it means.

It is time that these arrogant robed tyrants have their wings clipped. As the Virginia flag says, “Sic Semper Tyrannis.”

A Few Quick Thoughts on Comey

Now that James Comey’s “Historic” has turned out to be a dud for the liberals — at least until the networks, WaPo, NYT, AP, CNN managed to dig something up to distort or simply lie about — here are a few quick thoughts on Comey.

I was surprised that he used the phrase “independent DOJ and FBI.” He has a law degree from the reliable University of Chicago so he must know that the Department of Justice is part of the Executive branch not the Judicial Branch (though he wouldn’t be the first to make this mistake). Has he not been aware that he works for the President all these years. During the Obama administration he certainly seemed to know who his bosses were — Obama, Holder and Lynch.

Then there was the story making the rounds that Comey asked Attorney General Sessions not to be left alone with Trump. Imagine that, an employee asks his immediate supervisor that he not be left alone with the head of the company. Normally the supervisor would laugh.

But it’s sort of understandable. If you’re a company vet that’s built up a nice little fiefdom where you feel you are judge, jury and executioner, the last thing you want is for a new CEO to come in and shake things up. You damn sure don’t want to be in his office alone and having to explain yourself — especially if you aren’t getting your job done and are dragging the company down.

And that’s what Comey was doing. He knew there was nothing to the investigation, that Trump was not the target yet he did nothing to publicly correct the MSM/Democrat lie swarm. He could have but didn’t.

In fact, Comey looks to have been a leaker himself and aided his colleagues in leaking by providing them with material that could be distorted by media character assassins.

Oops, spoke to soon. Around 9:30 the MSM began dropping stories that Comey testified that Trump fired him to undermine Comey’s investigation and that Trump was a liar. They’re all repeating the same meme, leaving out all the testimony contradicting their reporting for the last several months. It took them about six hours to get this coordinated disinformation campaign going. As of 10 p.m. the stories were popping up one by one at the major media outlets.

Down the Memory Hole She Went

That was quick. It seems that Sara Leigh “Reality” Winner has had her 15 minutes of fame in the eyes of our MSM news gatekeepers. Her story — leaking classified information to reporters — has been sent down Orwell’s Memory Hole after one day in the limelight because her identity was inconvenient for the Democratic Party/Socialist Media Alliance; much like the recent Bernie Sanders-loving Portland “White Supremacist” killer story was quickly euthenized. It’s so hard to keep memes alive when the facts run contrary to them. But our media is nothing if not diligent in watering the memes and keeping them on the front page and at the top of the hour — “trending” as the hipsters say. Another episode in Fake News.

Of course had this happened during the administration of King Barry I and Winner had leaked something embarrassing to The One, and assuming some MSM outlet had initially gone with it, the story would have quickly turned upon her as the MSM deployed dozens to dig up dirt on her (aided and abetted by the DNC and assorted Dem nonprofit activist groups). Reporters would be looking into her kindergarten records – all to cast aspersion on her. But it was different this time. She avoided becoming infamous but instead becomes a nonperson. It’s all still so Orwellian.

Before I let Winner fade away, I wanted to recommend Monica Showalter’s piece at The American Thinker — “Another Young Lefty Contracter Leaks Top Secrets.” Looking at the disaster train — Edward Snowden, Bradley “Chelsea” Manning, she accurately describes the upcoming egotistically clueless, often disturbed, Millennial generation and the depressing state of security clearance investigations.

Wednesday morning’s anti-Trump news was the “rift” between Trump and Attorney General Jeff Sessions or the perceived “rift” or the “rift” that was a few weeks old – this courtesy of the NYT, WaPo and AP – so it must be true.

Then came the “breaking announcement” of Trump’s nomination of a new FBI director which was immediately deemed suspicious and a diversion from James Comey’s upcoming testimony. Sen. Mark Warner immediately said that to back up the MSM.
Of course had Trump waited until after the Comey testimony the story would have been deemed suspicious and a diversion from the “historic” testimony of James Comey, blah, blah, blah. Damned if he does and damned if he doesn’t is how the media spins Trump in every story. The man could cure cancer and the media would whine he’s putting hardworking health care professionals, “historically” minorities, out of work…

That’s how “our” “news” gets made.

 

On Griffin 2

This little piece on Jim Carrey’s and Rosie O’Donnell’s reactions to the Kathy Griffin mess demonstrates the utter depravity of the cultural liberal.

Carrey said, “I think it is the job of a comedian to cross the line at all times — because that line is not real.” I’m not sure how one crosses an unreal line… but, Mr. Carrey, the job of a comedian is to be funny. That might involve crossing some line but it usually doesn’t. Someone whose sole job is to “cross the line” is a provocateur.

He added the utterly predictable liberal masturbation, “We’re the last line of defense. And really, the comedians are the last voice of truth in this whole thing.” Oy, if there are two things about comedians, it’s that they are not the last line of defense nor ever the last voice of truth.

Jim Carrey is a funny guy (usually) but he thinks far too much of himself.

As for Rosie O’Donnell – she preferred to reference Barron Trump and the maniac in Portland that stabbed two people while harassing two women. She blamed that on Donald Trump. Apparently Rosie missed the discovery that the attacker was a Bernie Sanders supporter (along with having a screw loose, but then that goes without saying). Hey, Rosie, aren’t you sweet on Bernie, too?

All of which leads me to that Portland story. Rosie’s ignorance of the facts of the case might have to do with the fact that the story disappeared out of the mainstream media as soon as it was revealed that the killer was a Sanders and Jill Stein supporter. Since those facts didn’t appear in the NYT, WaPo, AP, CNN, MSNBC, mainstream TV, et al, as they were contrary to the approved meme it was impossible for her to know her talking points. The last she had heard were the first reports, “White supremacist kills two…” and they eagerly, giddily hinted that we had another Dylann Roof. That’s where she is stuck – parrots have to be retrained when new things come along.

It’s not an accident that the story went down the MSM’s Orwellian memory hole. The MSM is a propaganda organ and anything contrary to the approved memes can’t be “news.” They should be ashamed of themselves but as we’ve learned, the liberal has no shame.

Mercy For Griffin

Yeah, that’s a tough one and though she doesn’t deserve it but I’m actually advocating some mercy for “Comedienne” Kathy Griffin after her foolish participation in some “performance art” featuring a fake severed Donald Trump.

Performance art has long been a scam. Was it ever anything else? It’s been the forum of the talentless and angry.

I have little doubt that Griffin’s apology is probably more motivated by the backlash and sudden realization of the mortality of her own career than any heartfelt understanding that what she did really was wrong.

She’s been a long-time twisted liberal hatchetwoman, little different than so many TV comics. That she’s found a home on CNN for so long tells you about where there head is.

Having said all that, I do advocate some mercy for her.

Our society, led by the liberal cultural commissars, has become vicious often seeking metaphorical bloodsport, in destroying people’s careers over the slightest “outrageous” transgression. Liberals love to seek and be “outraged.” There are times when it seems all that liberals live for is to be “outraged” by something.

Conservatives are used to this as they are the ones usually on the receiving end of these outrage fits.

My response on all of this is for people to lighten up and get a sense of humor.

Yeah, there was no humor involved in this incident but performers like Griffin need some latitude for the occasional faceplant. ALL performers need this.

Comics do go too far sometimes. It’s what many do and ideally they learn.

On the other hand, she has repeatedly demonstrated she is a horrible person so she should have some humility. I’m not advocating she go tearfully onto the Ellen or Oprah shows (and give one of those nonapology apologies) but it would be nice to see real contrition. Maybe an afternoon in some stocks in a public square in a Texas town and children pelting her with rotten fruit and vegetables – on live TV. For charity, of course.

Griffin is so illustrative how far out the American left is. How easily “Death to Trump” rolls off their tongues.

Imagine if this was a conservative comic – there are a few out there but they don’t get big-time jobs on TV like a low-rent comic like Griffin gets. But imagine the nuclear holocaust that would have been visited on, say, Steve Crowder if he’d displayed a plastic head of Obama. The energy radiated alone in vaporizing him would have raised the Earth’s surface temperature by a couple of degrees. Every Republican on the planet would have been asked/required to denounce him… Remember how “everyone” went ape poop when a cartoonist had Obama as an organ grinder’s monkey? Oy!

Yeah, it’s not fair but we’ve become a hypersensitized society and that only plays into the hands of the liberals.

An Example of Libtard Arrogance

I’ve been meaning to write a blurb on the Matt Damon/Stella Artois (Interbrew) commercial/PSA about the “global water crisis.”

Yeah, despite all those glaciers melting and the seas rising, soon to overwhelm New York City, there’s a shortage of water in some places.

They usually call those places deserts and the third-world. Making sure you have a steady supply of clean water is a sure sign of a modern, competent civilization.

Anyway, the company touts its efforts to get clean, fresh water to women (not to men? Aren’t they thirsty too?). It’s kind of a well-meaning program and would certainly be commendable as a stop-gap for emergencies.

The thing that gets me is Matt’s close: “We can be the generation that ends the global water crisis.”

Wow, that’s a big goal.

I like big thinking but, somehow, I doubt handing out water bottles individually is really going to end the “global water crisis.” Certainly not in the next few years.

The lack of even distribution of water resources has been a problem for quite a long time.

Depending on the location, there are only a few easily identified conditions causing a water problem.

It’s usually a lack of precipitation, cultural dysfunction, poor government or a mixture of those.

This is yet another example of the arrogant libtard’s strange fantasy world. A world where they can will things that have failed others. They are sure they can undo King Canute’s point that there are things beyond man’s control.

It’s like the endless “causes” they are obsessed with; that seem to make up their whole life. It’s always just a matter of throwing money at a problem, wearing a ribbon, walking a few miles, lighting a candle, signing a petition, going to an event, visiting a website, being really, really, really concerned. If we just perform one of more of these rituals, the cause will magically be resolved.

We can cure X or stop Y if we just try; as if people hadn’t tried before (and the libtard, in another display of their patented arrogant ignorance, is usually sure that no one ever did try until he came along).

The arrogance and conceit of these people is monumental and they are completely oblivious to it.

I would love to get some odds from Damon on ending that water crisis.

No More ISIL

Hey, notice something?

There’s no more “ISIL.”

Not that they’ve been exterminated (IF ONLY!) but no one seems to be calling ISIS ISIL any longer.

If you remember, like a snotty college sophomore trying to demonstrate his college smarts at Thanksgiving, The One, AKA Otard the Malignant, AKA Pres. Barack Obama, called ISIS ISIL (while also describing them as ‘The J.V.’). He was wrong on both counts.

Anyway, now they seem to get described everywhere as ISIS.

And speaking of ISIS, in the wake of the Manchester bombing, there is the dawning realization that our intellectual and political leaders, seemingly on both sides of the aisle (other than Trump), are simply incapable of embarking upon a solution — “Buck up,” is their turn the cheek advice. Rather Chamberlain-like (a decent man completely inappropriate for the time).

Libtards, Democrats, socialists, Millennials, all do don’t understand that the Islamofascists are not guiltable, they don’t care about political correctness, they aren’t cowed by cries of “racism,” “bigot,” or “sexist.” They’ll still pull the trigger.

All those candles, Teddy Bears, flowers, moments of silence, hashtags, etc. won’t do a thing. If anything the terrorists are encouraged by such a patronizing response. Hey, Michelle Obama, Jen Psaki, et al, how’d that #bringbackourgirls hashtag work out in Nigeria? Yeah, it didn’t move the dial a hair, did it?

But that never was the point, was it?

Surprisingly, Muslim terrorists don’t subscribe to the symbology that makes college kids, celebrities, cultural commissars, elite bureaucrats, Democrats and European socialists, et al, all gooey. The libtards simply wanted to feel good about themselves that they were “doing something.” And, most importantly, signal their virtue to each other. They could look like they were doing something when, in reality, they never intended to do anything but they felt awesome and superior to those who actually want to get their hands dirty and really do something that might involve breaking some windows, or some people.

The inimitable prophet Mark Steyn nails it in “‘Dangerous Woman’” Meets Dangerous Man.”

He taps into our absurd culture where a cupcake like former Nickelodeon child star Ariana Grande is ever-so-“dangerous,” all the while ignoring actually, really dangerous people like Muslim extremists who blow up themselves and other people at music concerts.

Of course Ariana is “dangerous” in a cool, sexy, politically correct female empowering way. Kinda not really dangerous at all but pretend “dangerous” so everyone can enjoy being “dangerous” without having to go all Machine Gun Kelly or break any laws.

In the mind of the modern liberal the only really dangerous (and divisive, hateful and oppressive…) people are, and “everyone agrees,” Donald Trump and his supporters.

You just keep telling yourself that, Millennial Pajama Boy and female pugilist punching a bag in a panty hose commercial. That’ll go over well as they puzzle over whether the Muslim terrorist holding a gun to their heads is going to pull the trigger. They won’t have to puzzle long (and as they descended to their eternal fate they still wouldn’t admit they were wrong).

Funny How These Things Happen

You might have heard, how could you miss it, that “Fox News Host Bob Beckel” or just “Fox News Host” was “Fired Over Racially Insensitive Remarks.”

You couldn’t miss the “Fox News” part.

Of course this could have just as accurately been “Former Mondale Campaign Manager…”

Yeah, Beckel is a Democrat and was Walter Mondale’s 1984 presidential campaign manager but somehow that never seems to get mentioned or is buried on paragraph 48. Funny how those things happen in the media…

Payback

Now that the president has succumbed to Beltway demands and become subject to a “Special Counsel” investigation, it is time he got back onto the offensive.

I’m not talking about legislation like tax reform (though that would be good) nor am I talking about draining the swamp (thought that would be good too).

I’m talking about payback.

Time to get a “Special Counsel” to look into Hillary Clinton’s email server? Why did the FBI hand out immunity grants like they were acid tabs at a Grateful Dead concert? And what about that Clinton Foundation and all those juicy donations?

Lois Lerner is still a free woman. Now that Republicans are putatively in control of the records perhaps something can be found that wasn’t destroyed. Hey, how about looking into all that act of destroying the evidence?

Let’s make public some of the Washington communications that took place during the night of Benghazi? Exactly what did Washington know and what did they tell the military and the folks in Benghazi. I’m sure it’s quite embarrassing to people with initials like BHO and HRC.

There’s probably some creepy stuff concerning Obama’s desire to make Iran a world power.

On the Russian front, why did the FBI let the DNC withhold its servers concerning the “hacked” emails and allow the DNC to dictate the results of a sham investigation rather than analyze the servers themselves. What are the odds that the Wikileaks material were an inside job (Seth Rich???). Inquiring minds want to know.

How about releasing some intraagency emails concerning Fast & Furious? Hijinks at the EPA? The plottings of the Mordor that is the DOJ’s Office of “Civil Rights”? Ditto the Dept. of Educations same office? Who organized the National Park Service cops to shut down America’s monuments during the government shutdown? I’m sure there’s lots of fun things from the National Labor Relations Board (run by the DNC’s new guy, Tom Perez)?

Frankly, the Democrats have a lot more to hide than Trump. It’s time to fight fire with fire. The Democrats need to be carpet-bombed with their own words and deviousness. Expose their cynicism and craven power-grabbing; their arrogance and disdain for the American people. Their willingness to destroy the country in the desire for ultimate power and certainly destroy it if they can’t rule it.

Like a jilted lover they have the mentality that if they can’t have it, no one can.

They’ve opened the box, it’s time to turn the tables.

Trump should be like Kurt Russell’s Wyatt Earp in “Tombstone” when he has Ike Clanton on the ground at the Tucson train station. “You tell all the other curs, the law’s coming… You tell them I’m coming and Hell’s coming with me.”
